Wow. That face makes the Edsel look good. IMHO the early Edsel grille wasn't as ugly as people made it out to be. |

... both cars look much better from behind '59 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer D500 vs. 1958 Edsel Citation E475 LOL, another more flattering look at the '59 Dodge here: /vehicle.php?id=695382 Virgil Exner designed the Forward Look Mopars in the mid-50's and early '60s. We agree on the grille -- the whole Chrysler line was overdressed in 1959. As for the Edsel, it was ahead of its time in some respects: wide horizontal gull-wing taillights, flat rear deck, 60-40 bench seat, high-torque 400+ cu. in. displacement V8, other innovations. Lots of details & photos here: http://www.edsel.com/pages/edsel58.htm#Engines Have you seen an Edsel on this show? I've searched SoC/USM and Highway Patrol, too -- no luck yet. Please post a grab shot if you find one! Thanks, jettalover. -- Last edit: 2014-07-19 17:52:34 |
