I've written an article for 'Mazda's 100th Anniversary' brochure for Classicauto. And I done the nice & long phone conversation with 80s Mazda & Toyota dealer, Jan Kozłowski (Nowogard). Also I've found pure details about Corolla's import to Poland. Corolla [E80] was sold here since fall 1984/1985, sedan or liftback, 1.8 Diesel [CE80] DX only, priced above 6000 USD, with limited colours choice: White 041 (single with no extra charge), Silver Metallic 137/147, Light Blue Metallic 8A8, Light Topaz Metalic 4E1) & Blue Metallic 8C7, alike here. -- Last edit: 2021-01-12 16:36:58 |

That' true, that's why other Polish E80s were 1985, but it is strange that this one doesn't have Diesel badge. |

Perhaps yes That's good find with liftback, rembered them, but wasn't sure of official import - most were sedans. Any info about the official import of 1985-87 Carina II liftback? It was rare compared to Carina II sedan, but after all to meet sometimes. Husband of our doctor in public clinic had liftback in late 1980s (before 1989). |

This source http://25lat.toyotanews.pl/e-book/trudne-lata-1981-1989.html claims few dozen sedan Carina 1.8 Diesel [CA60] was imported after martial law in Poland (7/1983) and (much more) Carina II since spring 1985, as 2.0 Diesel DX sedan only. |

Yes, fuchs also pasted link to this article once - indeed they mention only sedans there, but IMHO there is still chance that among quite many Carinas II sedans also some liftbacks could be officially imported, especially that importer was also taking the special orders.
