RTL 458 (KLB 653), Park Royal-bodied and delivered new in December 1949 to Plumstead depot for use on services 53 and 53A. Later transferred to Stockwell in January 1957 and overhauled at Aldenham works towards the end of that year. Transferred once again to Hackney in October 1958 and later to West Ham for use on service 40 before being bought by Cape Town Electric Tramways, South Africa. |

Buses frequently went into Aldenham for overhaul and came out with another body and chassis. You can only say for certain the original fitment, as LT used to have a float of spare bodies and they got chopped and changed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldenham_Works In terms of naming buses, hasn't it been the practice to use the following: - Year then Chassis Maker: Model/Coachbuilder: Body name and mark if applicable? |
