Nash Metropolitan 1954 or 1955, they are virtually the same car ( the Metropolitan was launched in small quantities at the end of 1953 and became more readily available in the spring of 1954)It was powered by the four cylinder Austin engine of 42 horsepower.Seen here literaly squeezed between an ' 80 Buick and an AMC Pacer. |

That's not a Buick. It's a 1983-1984 Mercury Cougar. |

Is the model origin correct? Wasn't the whole thing made by Austin at Longbridge? |

I would agree with US origin (Nash sourced all Metropolitans from Austin, and based the design on Austin components) but made in UK. Later the 'Metropolitan' brand was also to be sold in UK's Austin dealers, hardtop and convertible, following agreement from Nash. |

Shall I apply "made in UK" to all Nash Metropolitan then? |

Yes, Antoine please can you add it to all Metropolitans badged as either 'Nash' or 'Rambler'. |

Having been made prior to '56, this should be properly called Nash Metropolitan 1200 Convertible. |

I'm watching now this movie in TV. This car deserves three stars. It belongs to the main character and is used in at least three scenes. One of them - seen on the picture - shows how Nick tries to make car free and then he drives in it to Gretchen. |

Is this in California? It looks like it, but its very unusual for a car to be this rusty in that part of the country. |
