That's not a production Prius Plug-in, but a normal Prius. The fender badge is the plain HYBRID one, and it also doesn't have the Plug-in wheels, like seen on Under The Dome: /vehicle_608303-Toyota-Prius-plug-in-ZVW35-2012.html Also, Google results for 'Google Driverless Prius' consistantly comes up with second generation models, not third generation (there are 6 Prii in Google's fleet). Which means this is likely either a mockup, or a recent addition to the fleet at the time of filming. |

'The Nevada law went into effect on March 1, 2012, and the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles issued the first license for an autonomous car in May 2012. The license was issued to a Toyota Prius modified with Google's experimental driverless technology.' - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_driverless_car The Prius II was made from 2004 to 2009, so the Prii II turned into driverless cars by Google were used cars, already with a number plate on. This one though, is a 2012 too, like the car registered in Nevada. That means this one could be an actual driverless car made by Google, even though the plate on the car bumper on this scene is a California plate (it can be fake). |
