sparks roadster ◊ 2015-05-06 05:06	The car used in Flamingo road, six weeks and Hunter is a 1980 Sparks Turbo Roadster, hand built one of 25 by Ron Sparks who worked for Allen Clenet in the 79's, Ron built 25 cars after leaving Clenet, this car is built on a Caddy chassis running a 500 CI engine. This car is owned by Dave Wilson Sr. And located at carx4you.com in Robertsdale Alabama. Ron Sparks is alive and well living in Arkansas. This was never sold as kit car, they were sold new for over $100,000 As far as I can tell there are only two know to exist. Dave Wilson Sr. 1-251-597-5682
sparks turbo phaeton ◊ 2015-06-15 04:31	Let me help you, The engine is a Caddy 425 CU 7L V8 and ot more than 2 roadster exist but only one Sparks Turbo Phaeton was built believe me as i'am the owner and yes Ron is alive ,he's a very nice guy ,we are in contact as i've restored the phaeton for more han 4 years ( full restoration ) . The car is juste stuning and has a killer look . The car is a one one one and way nicer than the roadster ,gold plated evrywhere ,diamonds in the clock ,rare exotic wood ( macassar ) and more ,you won't find that in the roadster . The car is for sale with original documents and complete book from the very fresh restoration the largest documentation world wide on that car and the roadster too. Some documents are unique no one else have them . I'am a perfectionist so no corners were cut ,the car must be seen ,it's something way beyond what you've seen before . Sorry for my poor English . sparks turbo phaeton ◊ 2015-06-20 09:47	I come back on the roadster ,and Sandie you are right 25 were built . i've been chassing these cars for the last past 5 years and found a few for sale (I would say at least 4 to 5 in navy blue or white). The last one was in burgundy and actually i was surprised as i thought only 2 colours were available ( white and blue navy ) but One came in burgundy the colour look similar to my car the Sparks Turbo Phaeton. However, after questioning Ron he said it was cloth but not that same color. Also the Phaeton is a double toned burgundy ,one shade for the wings and the other for the body; if you look carefully on some pictures you'll see it .One of the roadsters was ordered by Evel Kneivel . I love these cars and i want to purchase a roadster, but unfortunately there are none in Australia. i've been lucky with the phaeton as the car was in the US of course but in the early 2000 some one bought it and shipped it to Australia. This was so that it could become a rental car for special events and one day the guy sold it to me and i saw the car at the Melbourne Cup ( horse race ) carrying Miss World (who was Australian at that time) and fell in love for the car then he asked the owner if the car was for sale ,they've made a deal on a trade with a property later in 2011 i saw the car for sale on caresales.com.au . I contacted the guy and found out he was only 1 kms from my place. when i saw that this car was a very unique car (as i've never seen something like it before) but at that time no one knew the real story and everyone thought a hand full where made. but after years of research and with a magnifier to look the original folder ( pictures from the car with description ) i saw some small details or imperfection and they were the same as what i have on my car then later after more research again finally been in contact with Ron Sparks ,i've asked him about how many were made and he confirm what i thought ,that car was the only one ,for some reason the project was stopped so that car was like a prototype the mistake was that car was to expensive because of the Gold plated, diamonds , exotic wood ,and a lot more ,also that car is a Limo Phaeton and required a chauffeur so the roadster came to save all that investment and work to create very special car ( the Phaeton )so to be able to sale that car i mean the roadster ,no Gold no diamonds no Madagascar wood etc etc ..... And of course no chauffeur so a car lot cheaper and affordable .25 Roadster were built and sold ,the price was at that time in 1981 around $65 000 i have the oriignal documents and the Phaeton the starting price was around $ 115 000 but because you can change and add some option like a choice of wood or leather or Radio Etc ... That is why i talk about starting price and this was for both cars of course it never happened ,all i'am telling you come frome genuine original documents talking about 300 cars to be built 150 for the US and 150 for Europe ,nothing of that happened . please don't hesitate to contact me as i have way more details and info on both cars but i'am limited with the English as i'am a French how immigrate to Australia so i do my best to be clear but there are a lot more to say on these cars. If someone is interested on buying the phaeton, the car is for sale in an exceptional and immaculate condition with full restoration and full book also rare documents and more but this come to a price ,only on request for serious inquiries .
