It's right hand drive, so it's a used import from somewhere. Perhaps a Korean who had been living abroad brought it home with him. Are they any details that would show where it came from?

I suspect an Aussie, based on the wipers

Were 1302 and 1303 assembled in Down Under?

Seems like they changed to assembling German parts 1968, but the production went on until 1976, so yes, I assume they were.

http://www.netro.com.au/~vwcc/jseil1.htm and Wikipedia confirm the same thing.

Any Australian friends to verify this? And would it be possible to import a five to seven year old car from Australia?

IIRC the South Korean government banned car imports absolutely, but as I said perhaps Koreans who had been living abroad could bring in their personal cars. The other possibility is that it belonged to a US serviceman who had previously been posted to an RHD country, e.g Britain or Japan.

The 7th thumbnail provided by Lateef shows that gas cap cover still opens from outside.

Yes, the opener inside was 1969-72

If you look closely, you can see the original wiper holes are covered - they were assembled in Australia with German parts.

Could you be occured that it may be a windscreen washer?

Well it's only a dot on the picture so you may very well be correct that the holes are used for nozzles while the original nozzle (shown here /vehicle_499091-Volkswagen-Convertible-Typ-1-1973.html) is covered up. Anyway it seems like a convertion to RHD wipers not done in Germany, I believe.

You are quite right, tore-40 [:shy]

1303 for Japan (RHD) is only a product made in Germany.
However, there is a hole cover.
