Yes, Danno used this Galaxie 500 during the first season...maybe longer. I'm not a Ford person...but old Galaxies like this are pretty cool. The hubcaps are kind of "plain" but I love the red interior! :)

I agree...I liked Ford design of the 1960s, and the '65 / '66 Galaxie was a classic design. Agreed too regarding the dog dish hubcaps. Those look incongruous fitted to a four-door hardtop with white wall tires and a red interior. Perhaps that was a change done for the purpose of filming to make the car look more like an unmarked police car. I always was amused that Danno had to drive an older Ford (one that was two years old when the first episode was filmed!), whereas McGarrett got the new Mercury....although he had to stick with that for long after its shelf date expired. Yes, a cool car, and honestly, credit goes to Ford Motor Company by not insisting the newest model Mercury for McGarrett. More realistic for any budget-conscious law-enforcement entity, and it kept the show from looking like a story filmed around a car commercial.
