Perhaps it was a prototype or pre-production "0-series" car that would have been scrapped anyway. ingo says that happens quite a lot on Cobra 11, for instance. |

Could be, but it would cost them very little to supply a new or fleet car, for the publicity and screentime in comparison to making a €500k+ TV ad. |

Wouldn't this be a 2007 or 2008 model then? I remember that BMW had the first non-mule F01 prototypes prepared in 2007. In 2006, it was at most a detailed clay model. |

The video dudley found shows that the interior was stripped out, so they either had two cars or filmed the explosion some time after the other shots. |
