this is a test... right. remove all the determining factors, and throw it out there. no bumpers, no badging save for the sail pillars, and the original hubcaps sold off for scrap metal... prime the car, and paint the lower rockers black just to complete the insanity. the turn signals seem to be in the lower valance rather than in the grille, so the max, potential range would include the 1970-1973 240Z, and the early 1974 260Z. the fact that it still has sail pillar emblems with the rest of the badging removed leads me to believe that it most likely has the vented pillars that would look ridiculous debadged, so late 1971(.5) at the earliest seems logical, and with a passenger's door mirror (that at this distance appears to be stock), the later in the run the more likely. my guess is that she's probably a 1973 240Z, but per the IMDCB "earliest as thus" policy, the first full and most likely model year would make her a 1972 240Z... that's my story, and i'm stickin' to it. |
