Exact chassis number: [70079]. And that's not another 507 but Elvis car. |

Last time I saw it, it was candy red and rotting away... |

So the Elvis car is fully restored but engine and transmission irrevocably lost when it was turned into a hotrod in the sixties. |

And here is the only known photo of the 70079 in 1962, when its owner painted it black. Look at the plates, as if accurately reflecting the birth and death years of its most famous of 5 owners. The photo was the cover of the March 1962 issue of Road and Track Link to "scontent.fmga3-2.fna.fbcdn.net" -- Last edit: 2022-01-28 15:29:37 |

Here is the other BMW 507 which BMW Classic restored, both being the property of Mr. Jack Castor from 1968 until 2014. When this particular unit was finally restored, as was the Elvis one, in 2016, it went to Mr. Castor's widow, as he had died in late 2014. She in turn, eventually gifted it, or sold it, to Mr Ron Gilmartin who loaned it to Jerry Seinfeld for inclusion in a 2019 episode of his "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" Netflix TV series, guest starring double Oscar winner Christoph Waltz. The chassis # of this beauty is 70089, and has a papyrus white exterior and blue and white interior. Elvis' was restored back to its original feather white with black and white interior. Here is a caption from that episode. https://cdn.bmwcca.org/prod/s3fs-public/content/news/Comedians507-2.jpg And here are three photos of the Elvis' unit in all its glory Link to "scontent.fmga3-1.fna.fbcdn.net" Link to "scontent.fmga3-1.fna.fbcdn.net" Link to "scontent.fmga3-1.fna.fbcdn.net" -- Last edit: 2022-01-28 16:20:52 |

My favourite action packed photo of Elvis' unit. On his 24th birthday, January 8, 1959, leaving the building at Ray Barracks on one of the snowiest days in the then recent memory. Link to "scontent.fmga3-1.fna.fbcdn.net" |
