Very interesting comments about the "Suzuki LJ80" in Bergerac. Particularly because it is in fact an Austin Champ built on the opposite side of the world a couple of decades earlier!!!! It doesn't even look remotely like an LJ, perhaps thats why you don't find it very interesting!!!! Incidently the pics in your second post is actually an LJ hardtop. Thats why it looks completly different!!!! |

Just enlargedlooked the second post pics and looked in more detail, it is in fact an early Daihatsu Fourtrack!!!! I blame the poor quality pic and the small size on my laptop. Should have spotted that one straight away. They are in fact quite similiar and were even built on the same side of the world in the same decade!!!! |

So are any of these pictures a Champ? Are they all Daihatsu? Or?? And if there is anything Champ, it should be renamed Austin FV1801A 'Champ' [WN1], 1952+ to join some friends. |

Thank you. I wonder why Wikipedia does not cover this info for pre-1984 cars. |

Well it was several months before anyone noticed. And it took me a fair time to realise why we only had one solitary 'Austin Champ' in the collection. So no ![]() |
