To be precise: despite the DKW on Bruno's link is listed at "kfzderwehrmacht.de" it's to say, that the Wehrmacht itself never had DKW in official use. Maybe some commandeered cars in the last months of the war, but generally they were very strict with the principle "No two-stroke-vehicles in our range". Good for the private DKW-owners, because they could keep their cars, while all others (except some totally overaged rarieties) had to give away their vehicles, also trucks, buses and bigger motorbikes "für Führer, Volk und Vaterland". For free for sure. P.S. the car on Brunos link has the -for all required- concealed headlights, but still a civil numberplate. IS was from the Provinz Hannover. Is the plate on the car on the main pic better visible on annother pic? |
