220 SE, 250 SE or 280 SE? |

And, the year of the plate? |

No idea. It's not the original plate, as C-XXXX went out of issue in the mid 1950s. |

Hm, okay. And the US headlights are stock or aftermarket in Norway? |

I don't think this is sealed beam headlights. |

1968+ due the wheels. The ivory steering wheel can be a later replacement. |

later model - you can tell by the stacked headlights - its either a 280SE 2.8 6cyl or 280SE 3.5 V8 - The US market got the 280SE 4.5 - I understand the 3.5 did not meet the tougher emission rules |

If really a 1962-car, at least the wheels were replaced. I'm not sure, if for that change you also have to change the brakes and the naves, too. Several owners of pre-1968 Benzes do this replacement (although the car became unoriginal then), because tires for the 1968+ rims are easier to get and much cheaper than the original sizes. Otherwise: understandable, if you have a cheaper (but already high-priced, compared with other cars from that aera) W110 or an early W108. But a very odd cobblework at such a valuable collectible, were have here. The W111 Coupé and Convertible were the last handmade Benzes besides the 600. |
