Is the grey Estate -a Skoda?- not more worth to mention? Or the TUZEX-R5? Maybe someone can identify the location, an ancient, not WWII-destroyed Czech town? |

This is their "main town" - capital. The Skoda is 1202. The VAZ 2102 was called there "Universal" in official papers. |

@ingo: This looks like Hradčany in Prague. |

The street is called Nerudova street in the quarter Malá Strana, Prague 1, near Hradčany castle. The yellow Renault 5 was sold not only in TUZEX for foreign currency but in the shop Mototechna for not convertible czech crowns was avalilable also, the price according the price list in 1981 was 169.800 czechoslovak crowns... |

How expensive was it in comparison to the prices of local made or COMECON-made cars? |

ingo: This price is cca twice as the price of Lada 1600...but it´s doubtful because for example in 1978 price list (Mototechna) Fiat 127 MkII 900 costs 81 400 Kčs and Fiat 131 1600 costs 118 800 Kčs. Renault 20 in 1978 price list costs 182 200 and so this price of ordinary R5 seems to be very high (?) -- Last edit: 2011-10-13 19:31:33 |
