I guess the big bonnet scoop means this is one of those fitted with the big block engine? |

Yes, the Can Am version was powered with US 7-Litre V8 engine. |

This front was known as Series 2 in ISO literature. 2 possibilities for the car: 1] Grifo Can Am [IR9] - launched November 1970 Turin show with eiither 427 or 454 Corvette engines - 24 made until 1972 2] Grifo [IR8] with Ford 351 Cleveland - launched April 1972, used the vented bonnet but actually raised the vent by 1cm to clear the taller block - 34 made until 1974. Sometimes known as Grifo Ford. Can Am had reasonably big 7 litre logo on B-pillar which should be visible here if present, so - with the slightly greater numbers made - 1972+ Grifo Ford [IR8] might be safer. Unless the exact car can be identified ..... |

Checked with the Iso club and the car has been identified. Dsl is right, it is a Ford powered Grifo. Pictured at the 2009 Concorso Italiano at Monterey, 2009. |
