The picture of the car cornering is worth looking at more closely: See that outside rear wheel... the right-rear? Notice the top is leaning in, the tire's not tucking under. The leaf spring adopted on the rear of 1964 Corvairs only holds the rear up (along with the coils) when the car isn't subject to cornering forces. But the leaf lets the outside rear corner of the car sink, as seen here, effectively quashing any "tuck under" tendency in hard corners. -- Last edit: 2020-03-26 02:51:41 |
