??? The grille of the 1958 Buicks was the same in all series .So it could as well be a Century , a Special or a Limited.Would need a lateral view of the car to fix wheelbase and series trims. |

Negative slanted c-pillar suggests it is a 2-door hardtop. Was that available in each series? |

Yes there was a two door hardtop coupe in all lines :the Limited model 755 , Roadmaster model 75-R , Super model 56-R, Century model 66-R ,and Special Model 46-R.All were called Riviera Coupe ( hence the R).So if you think it is a 2 door hardtop then we can name it at least 1958 Buick Riviera Coupe |

I'm convinced it is a 2-door hardtop. The 4-doors didn't have the Impala-esque negative slanted c-pillars. The car is incorrectly restored btw with its red wheels - in 1958 they were body color. The car obviously has solex e-z-eye glass, so it can be assumed it is one of the 'higher' series? And even btw'er, what's parked behind it appears to be a '57 Skyliner Retrac. |

It's 1958 Buick 2 door hardtop, it seems to be a Super Riviera. The Special Riviera and Century Riviera have a different roofline while the Roadmaster 75 and the Limited have the same roofline as this car but they should have bright trim on their wheel arches lower fenders and rocker panels (and this one lacks it). Of course, some owners added bright trim to their Super and others could have removed it on their Roadmaster and Limited but from what I see, this car is a Super. |

That's true for the 1958 models (the larger series like this one had a vent window in their rear doors) but the 1957 "C" body 4 door hardtops did have similar C pillars. |

The other car does appears to be a 1957 Ford. -- Last edit: 2009-06-22 17:26:03 |
