I think by the Prefect grille that this is a Squire rather than an Escort. IIRC at some point the Squire's fake wood was deleted. -- Last edit: 2011-07-27 08:26:18 |

Fake wood deleted Oct 57 and replaced by chrome strips, and V-shaped bonnet mascot fitted at about the same date, so agree 1958+. But I'm not sure about Squire (as there are no chrome strips, but they may have disappeared with time) or Escort (becaiuse of Prefect grille only used on Squire). |

Looking at /vehicle_419716-Toyota-Corona-RT40-1968.html , the middle side window isn't openable, which on either the Squire or the Escort it would be. I'm inclined therefore to think this may be a Thames 7cwt. van [300E] with aftermarket windows. |

An Escort if it was a van the fuel cap would be visable behind drivers door in this view. Escort and Squire had fuel cap opposite rear corner. Also squire had a sliding passenger rear window not found on escorts. |

The other view shows the filler cap at the rear so possible that it is a thames van. -- Last edit: 2011-12-11 18:44:27 |
