Origin country must be Italy in such a case, as there were built there with difference with the british built (name, and logos)

sixcyl wrote with difference with the british built (name, and logos)

But if these are all the differences, it is still the same case as the Dodge Omni, which was listed as French because designed by Chrysler France. That's why I listed the other Innocenti A40s with UK origin.

I'm with sixcyl on this topic.

Innocenti, a separate Italian company, built BMC/Austin/Morris cars under licence in Italy but with small trim differences. They were not a BMC company and - for example - have a better claim to being 'Italian' than for example the newer Vauxhalls which are really German. ;)

But the basis is still the UK car, cf my example for the Chrysler Horizon / Dodge Omni...
And it still keeps its UK "ADO8" code.

Was Dodge Omni made in USA or in France? ..USA I guess, so I think it should be considered as US and not french as a Simca Chrysler... What about Dodge Barreiros?... spannish or American?... The french Ford Vedette was designed mostly by US R&D plants, but only produced in France, and then considered as french...

well I'm not very sure if I'm right, but I do consider these Innocenti rather italian than british....

Not made in France, but for me it is a French car as it was designed by Chrysler France. It is the same one as the Talbot Horizon, they just put larger wheels and bigger engine.
Like the japanese cars built in USA: they are still japanese cars. Even if they are sold under another make (e.g. Infiniti)

Where did the date come from on this please?

Looking at pics 8 & 9 on < http://www.a40farinaclub.org/devilgas.html >, you can see the difference in wheel base and therefore shorter door to rear wheel arch on the MKI.

This looks more like a MkII [ADO44] to me and therefore 1961 - 1967.
