She's Jaguar SS 100 3½ Liter. The famous car with long and convolute history fully presented in 03/2011 'Classic Auto' magazine. I can't find this number Has two W201 190E 2.3-16V on front page. Fortunately she's existing well! Played as racer since 40s to late 50s. Through 60s restored by Zbysław Szwaj, with Jaguar's factory association (amazing story in Polish specific of than time, he just send letter asking for any help with a list of needed spare parts, they found new engine short block even in storage for him!). Years later Szwaj was the engineer of Gepard and Leopard roadsters. Today car rests on sweet retirement in Sweden. -- Last edit: 2011-05-05 20:26:41 |

Three versions of model year (1937-1939) circulate in web, however I remember she was brand new car, arrived to Poland just before September 1939. |

Is the thumb the same car - see door top profile and the windscreen mount? Also would an SS Jag have the low-set headlights? Is thumb something French instead? |

All differences you're seeing were made because she was a racer involved in many track accidents, repaired with any original spare parts and prepared for better (?) air flow, etc. |
