All the 5000 series trucks are Cabovers.

No door vent windows.
Would that limit it to '48 to '50 like the smaller trucks?

Yes, the changes were the same:
- 1947-1949 with Loadmaster name and fuel tank on the chassis;
- 1949+ with the early 1949 new name and hood emblem and the late 1949 fuel tank behind the passenger seat;
- 1951+ with the vent windows;
- 1952+ with the push button door handles;
- certainly 1953 with the new "numbers only" hood emblem (I didn't find a picture of a COE with it ;-) );
- 1954 to mid-1955 (a.k.a 1955 First Series) with the ugly grille and one piece windshield.

The one of this page has a late 1949+ fuel tank. So maybe we should call it a:
1950 Chevrolet 5100?

Depending on the wheelbase (that isn't visible here), a 5100 to 5700.
