Did Newports have vinyl roofs? |

Newport could and did have vinyl tops. Could also be a New Yorker hardtop. Could even have been a convertible, given the chrome pillars and header for the windshield. So, I'm saying Newport or New Yorker convertible. Flatter grill may mean New Yorker. |

This is definitely a 1966 Chrysler. 1966 Newport 2-door hardtop had a crease in the roof that simulated a convertible top bow, and was available with a vinyl roof. There was no New Yorker convertible in 1966, and the New Yorker 2-door hardtop had a more formal roofline. Without seeing any other pictures from the movie, I would say this is most likely a Newport 2-door hardtop. Link to "s.car.info" |
