C'est pas plutôt "Tempo Vidal" que "Vidal Tempo" ? |

It was designed by Otto Daus and made by 'Vidal & Sohn' of Hamburg under the brand name 'Tempo' from 1936-44. The car has all-wheel-drive, all-wheel-steering, independent suspension and two engines, one for each axle -- a concept which was used again for the Citroën 2CV Sahara. With its turning circle of a mere 7 metres it was a very capable off-road vehicle. As the Wehrmacht (German Army) did not like its two-stroke engines it was not used by them. Almost all cars went into export, most of them to Sweden. |
