Never realised Mk 4 Cortinas could be GXL, even in foreign assembly versions - every other top-spec TC2 (Cortina and Taunus) I've seen is a Ghia. Date would be at least 1976 - from TC2 European launch, Korea some time later?

According to this review the film is set in 1975, so the Cortina is a slight anachronism.

After reading the comments on this page: /vehicle_196704-Hyundai-Granada.html

Should this be renamed to Hyundai?

With more pictures now, I've realised it's LHD, so LHD Cortina TC2s can exist without being Taunuses in Asian contexts. Also the front indicators look like bigger TC3 units - were these obsolete TC2s with minor TC3 trim additions, suggesting a date of at least 1980. TC3 also had redesigned roof and window profiles compared to TC2 with claimed 15% extra glass area but this still looks more like a TC2 cabin.

If it's going to be renamed - Hyundai Ford seems the most sensible title, but Hyundai on its own is not helpful for searches.

IIRC the Mark IV Cortina was made in LHD by Ford Portugal, Ford Lio Ho (Taiwan) and Hyundai (South Korea).

Cortina and Granada were both sold in Hyundai dealerships and the 1979-1981 Peugeot 604 was also sold by KIA partners but not sure about the badging.

I've read that the Peugeot 604 was badged as the 1st generation Kia Potentia.

Most definatley a tc2 / mk4 cortina bodyshell. Also note gxl type wheel arch trim never fitted to UK mk4/5 cortinas. all pics of this car i have show standard issue mk4 front indicators .

Why doesnt the taunus built in turkey by otosan get its own listing ??

What car are you referring to?

If the any of the cortinas built in korea come under Hyundai why dont any of the similar taunus built in Turkey come under Otosan and not ford. Ford stopped European taunus production in 1982 while it carried on untill 1994 in Turkey.I cant find Otosan in the car makes list

ok, just found some otosan images but only light car derived trucks, anadol and p100, no car types. but there is an otosan taunus listed under Ford.

But did they sell them as Otosan make, or under the Ford make? That's what counts of the listing here.

It is a Ford built under licence and sold by Hyundai under their name.
