![]() Badge on pillar say's KELLY. Is that part of co that converted to limo, or operated it or just some random insignia of sorts -- Last edit: 2010-07-19 15:48:57 |

Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham non-factory-built limousine. |

Yep - Rather rare as most stretch jobs were based on the cheaper Sedan DeVille. |

Probably the coach builder - there were many cut and splice outfits during the 80s before GM stepped in and certified certain coach builders. |

Just stumbled on this a decade later and can fill in some more detail. Firstly, a clearer view of the badge from the same clip shows that the full name was "Kelly Stageway". A little Googling says that Kelly-Stageway Corporation existed from January 1984 to March 1986 at 3113 Via Colinas, Thousand Oaks, California. Its CEO was Kelly Higgins, latterly of Malibu Auto Service which was founded a decade later in 1995 and seems to have continued through at least 2017. (Its website finally went offline some time after 2019.) Per his bio on the site as archived by Archive.org, he "started working on cars when he was nine years old. Then he became a mobile mechanic, started a limousine manufacturing company and in 1995 Malibu Auto Service began as a repair shop for all vehicles". Higgins himself can be seen on YouTube in an episode of the Fireball Tim Best of Show from October 2014. -- Last edit: 2023-01-03 07:32:10 |
