I suppose the British style one way sign is to make the location look more like the Bahamas.

I read that people from the Bahamas Film and Television Commission visited the set of "Burn Notice."

It looks like they decided to set part of an episode there, but clearly didn't shoot there. I wonder if they'll actually shoot an episode there later in the season.

I'm kind of surprised that they still have left-hand traffic since many, if not most, vehicles are North American Left-hand drive models.

They should have consulted this: Link to "www.bahamas.gov.bs" Traffic signs can be found on page 54 (.PDF page 57). It seems that they use a mixture of American- and British-style signs. If the set dressers/prop department had consulted the manual, they would see that The Bahamas uses black-and-white American-style "ONE WAY" signs.

I suppose that most cars were imported from the US and people just got used to left hand drive, but in recent photos from the Bahamas you can see Japanese and Korean vans that aren't even sold in the US, and they're LHD. :)

P.S. I noticed that some of the illustrations in the highway code book are drawn for driving on the right (for instance, the two way traffic signs on PDF page 60). Obviously the authors of the book just nicked the illustrations from somewhere else instead of drawing ones that matched the signs actually in use.

:D Good catch! I looked at the manual again, and I found a few strange things. For example, the manual's cover has a British "no passing/overtaking" sign with the red/prohibited car on the right. However, page 58 (PDF page 61) has a European version with the red/prohibited car on the left. I think I will review the manual and write them a letter with some suggested changes. They should have a more professional manual like the U.S. "Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Design" or the U.K. "Traffic Signs Manual" and "Know Your Traffic Signs."
