Does that mean the car next to the Cadillac in the foreground?

Yes, it means the one in background (actually "2nd level", I do not know the exact name for that in English)

That's a Chevy.

Antp: the 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood in front is in the "foreground", the Chevrolet behind it is in the "background".

...or the other way of saying it that is similar to 'second level', 'third level' and so on would be 'second from the front', 'third from the front' etc. :)

1971 Chevy. Model unknown, but definetly a '71 due to the bumper.

Si c'est celle du fond, c'est une 504 Peugeot berline...

But there are three cars, so "background" is not the best word for that... (background = arrière-plan)

Just to say/write "the dark sedan in the middle" to avoid any confusion

Looks like an Impala, but other opinions are welcome :)

Looks more like a 1974 or 1975 Impala/Bel Air due to the Grille.

It's a 74 due to the entire nose, not just the emblem. But it's definitely a Bel Air, there is no chrome trim around the window frames or drip moldings, just windshield trim. That's a dead giveaway.

74 Caprices used a totally different grille and headlight arrangement than the Impala/Bel Air that year. 75 Impala/Bel Air then used the 74 Caprices nose...haha
