this car is at least a little bit of an anachronism. this was listed on the site as a "280z" with no image included before i dug up the footage to get a look. i have no problem leaving it that way - as that is the most likely option. as the car pulls into the frame, the line of the hood is visable, and there appear to be no vents in the hood. that would make this - at the newest - a 1976 280z... and based on the style of the driver's door mirror, the oldest possibility would be a 1974.5 260z. those S30 cars that could either be late '74 260z, or '75-'76 280z examples have all been listed here as 1975 280z - based on the far higher chance that this is correct. so far there hasn't been a verifiable '74.5 260z added to the site. anyway, what i'm trying to say is that categorically this is where the car belongs, but also that the car is "wrong" in two ways:

1.) the movie is said to be set in 1972, so the car is 2+ years too new for the film, and...

2.) the ONLY black S30 cars were the ~1,000 1978 model "Black Pearl Editions" released, all of which would have had the 1977/78 hood vents that this one appears to be lacking. if anyone ever gets a good HD view of the hood rather than the 5" view that i had, and notices that the car has those vents, we'd have to make this a 1978 Black Pearl... even more of an anachronism, but less of a blatant color change repaint

:p
