First I thought this would be a 1946+ Plymouth, but the rear wheel arch doesn't match... Could it be a DeSoto Diplomat ?? |

1942 Dodge DeLuxe four-door sedan ( D-22-S).The 1942 Dodge DeLuxe had one upper front fender trim running from the headlights to half front wheel archand a small trim between the front bumper and weel arch .Those are not visible here. The Custom line had additional lower front and rear fender trims. The rear wheel arch contour was higher than on postwar Plymouths.Tire size was 6.00 X 16 inch for both cars ( 6.70 X 15 as from 1948 on Plymouths .The postwar DeSoto Diplomats were based on the Plymouth body with the same rear wheel arch cutout. |
