Ingo ◊ 2010-01-14 13:51	In the 70ies the Transit had nicknames like "Orient Express" or "Ford Ankara", because it was a very popular car for foreign workers, mainly Turkish ones, sometimes for Yugoslavians, too. It really happens, that the police have stoppped these Transits, totally overloaded, with washing-maschines and carpets on hte roof and 10-12 passengers inside. One of my school-friends had seen, how in front of their car, the back axle of such a totally overloaded Transit broke while driving on the Autobahn. Many of the foreign workers and their families died on the way back home, most of them on the badly known "Autoput" in Yugoslavia. This was the road with the most horror-crashes in Europe in the 70ies and 80ies.
