Est-ce-que c'est un Grand Vitara? Je pense que c'est seulement une Vitara (dans le E.U. et Canada, le Grand Vitara n'est pas un cabriolet) |

Nope, Not a Grand Vitara. This is a Suzuki Grand Vitara (see the link below) Link to "www.carpages.co.uk" It could be a Jimny, Sidekick or, most likely, a X-90. It is not a Grand Vitara. Grand Vitaras were and are Susuki's largest car. |

Actually. In 05 the redisigned and now it is not a small SUV, it is a midized four door. About the size of a Ford Explorer. Ya know.... I could be a Susuki, just not an American Model. It might be a Vitara or Grand Vitara. I am not a good judge because I am just identifying American cars and American version cars. -- Last edit: 2006-03-24 19:52:25 |

The Grand Vitara was redesigned in 2006 in the US. It's still considered a compact. The XL-7 is the midsize SUV. |

Why 'grand', it's not so big... |

Le Grand Vitara est apparu en Avril 1998, version 5 portes, juin 1999 en cabriolet. Moteur HDI Peugeot en janvier 2001. XL7 en jullet 2001 Grand Vitara appeared un April 1998 (5 dr version) and june 1999 in cabriolet. Diesel engine (Peugeot HDI) in january 2001. XL came in July 2001. All that concerned Euro and French market (were the car is registered anyway) |

In Italy the XL-7 was sold since 2003 to end 2005 only Diesel as 'XL-7 Freestyle'. The best selling model here was the 2.0 HDI 5 doors... ;), while a few cabriolets were sold, only 1.6 16V. So it is a 1999 model? |

At least |

At the time it was marketed it was a "bigger" and more refined version of the already available Vitara. It is longer, wider, taller, and with much more interior room. In many markets both models "co-existed" for several months, Suzuki dropping the 5dr versions of the Vitara to favor the Grand Vitara .... |

In the US the only difference between the Vitara and the Grand Vitara is the Grand version has a V6 while the regular version has the 4-cyl and also comes as a convertible. In 2004 the convertible Vitara was dropped and the Vitara wagon gained the V6 standard. |
