For a moment I was thinking, it's the Russian Ford Transit-derivate, but I'm probably wrong. |

Theoretically it's polish Lublin 3 Mi, sold in Germany as Intrall L3 (it has white indicator, then maybe it's made specifically for German market), but this car was produced from 2005... Earlier was simple Lublin 3, rather without different mark for Germany. My mistake, I forgot, that series is Swedish, not German... Then - for Swedish market. -- Last edit: 2009-10-05 12:53:52 |

Lublin 3: /vehicle_113184-Lublin-3-335-1999.html Were Lublins sold in Sweden? This is a Swedish series, and it has Swedish plates. -- Last edit: 2009-10-05 11:17:50 |

@Jale: are you sure I've never heard or read something, that Lublin-vans were sold here, and I've never seen such a van by myself (except in Poland). I cannot find any Lubmin at mobile.de either - the brand is not even noticed in the list. |

By a closer look on van and logo I'm starting to ruminate, if the unknown van, I've seen some weeks ago, could be perhaps a Lublin? Until now I thought to be sure, that it was a Tata... Now I'm looking at Google, if I can find something on Lublins in Germany, but I haven't found anything, only this auction: Link to "cgi.ebay.de" But this definetely from GDR-times. Not even at "others" on truckscout24.de: Link to "www.truckscout24.de" But two GAZ "Gazelle" in Berlin... -- Last edit: 2009-10-05 12:39:31 |

TruckScout24 has some other usual offerings, including a Barkas from 1991 (?) and a Beardmore taxi from 1960. I wonder how that ended up in Germany. The Barkas: Link to "www.truckscout24.de" The Beardmore: Link to "www.truckscout24.de" |

Yes, Barkas aren't really rare (even in our village in the far West is one running), but the most are still located in Eastern Germany. The interesting thing of the offered one is, that it was in use by a West German road maintenance. It has a authority-plate. Ca.2 years ago I was very surprised, when I in a far Western village (800 meters to holland from there) a quite rotten early Barkas from the 60ies - which had plates beginning with AH - this was not issued any more since 1974. So this Barkas was in use in Western Germany since decades. These British taxis are private imports from enthusiasts. A few of them (but new ones) are even in use as a taxi (looks odd, a London-taxi in the taxi-ivory-colour). The drivers are saying, that their passengers preferring the much better space inside. |

It is rather before the 2004, it must be from the DMP era - I vote for Daewoo Lublin 3 - such make it had in export. In Daewoo times, I think, they had the greatest export abilities after the 1989. Ingo to shock you more, I will tell you, that the Nysa 521 was also exported to the West Germany in the 70's. Some versions, like for example the 522 (with higihier roof), were even designed for the request of the German customers. |

Almost 2,000 of these were built between late 1989 and early 1991 with a Volkswagen 1.3 4-stroke-engine (the same as in the latest Wartburgs). |

Very strange, I've never read anything about Nysa's in Western Germany, not in old magazines from the 70ies and not in actual magazines, which I've read since the early 80ies. No test-report, no advertise, not even a short message somewhere in the back, that the import has started. It's an official fact, the export to Western Germany, or was it just a rumour (which often you can find in car-magazines, too). And for sure: I've never seen any Nysa with West German plates. I even cannot remember, that I've seen some in the GDR on my trips there between 1987 and 1989... |

Also few Nysa vans found their way to Finland. Maybe less than 20 cars were imported. Also very small number of Warszawa and Star were sold. FSO and Polski-Fiat were the only succesful Polish cars in our market. Few thousand Polski-Fiat 125p and 125p Pick-Up's were sold and Polonez was one of the cheapest cars in the market. The importer even offered special Finnish editions of these cars like 'Lapponia' which included vinyl top and roof window. Last Polonez in Finland was sold in 1991 I think. This year I have seen only one Polonez in use. I haven't seen a 125p on the road in fifteen years. They had a bad reputation so majority of them were scrapped rather quickly. A 125p Pick-Up is an exception, there are still few in use in the country side but fewer than one-hundred. |

For Finland there was also sport version of the 125p called "Finn Specjal" http://piotrwiewiora.w.interia.pl/spor.monte.fin.jpg Ingo it is an official fact. |
