I think it is much earlier than 1968. Borgward were out of business well before that. Maybe 1958??

According to Wikipedia:
Quote In 1961 the company was forced into liquidation by creditors though Carl Borgward insisted the company was solvent. Events proved him right and all the creditors were fully paid off. In 1963 all manufacturing equipment for the Borgward Isabella and P100 was sold to Mexico.

...

The start of production in Mexico was delayed, but was eventually begun in 1967 by the entrepreneur Gregorio Ramirez Gonzalez. Production in Mexico ceased in 1970.

After Borgward's smashup in 1961 the manufacturing line was shipped to Monterrey, Mexico. The P 100 was called 230 GL there and production started in August 1967. 2267 cars were produced until early 1970.

Only the second P 100 on the site, and the first Mexican built!

Maybe just 230. The base model was 230; luxury model was 230 GL; limousine (~30cm longer) was 230 K.

(it's ok to leave it as "230 GL" in case someone out in teh interwebs is searching for that string specifically :))

the 230 base model came with flat rear windwow instead of panorama and no fins it looks quite modern compared to the more expensive GL , the GL was a "clean" P 100 like this one, in Monterey they even designed new front and rear design without fins in 1970 + a new Isabella
