I like the good ones! This is a 1968-71 CJ5 pretending to be an M38A1. The small fuel filler is the first clue. Second an M38A1 would have a larger fuel tank extending below the body line where this vehicle has an exhaust pipe. Third I don't recall the M38A1 having the indentation along the forward edge of the fender (for '68+ federal side marker lights of civilian vehicles). I don't see any sign of the drivers side glove box of the M38A1. Obviously it is recreated to be military but is not. |

And it has JEEP imprinted on the cowl, which indicates a CJ-5. |

This scene was an reenactment of the bombing of the US Army V Corp Headquarters committed by the RAF at the IG Farben Building in Frankfurt on the morning of the 11th May 1972. The bombing killed US Army Lieutenant Colonel Paul Bloomquist and wounded 13 others, the RAF stated that bombing was in retaliation for the US re-escalation of the Vietnam War. -- Last edit: 2020-01-18 16:38:20 |
