testarossas from 1958 look very different. that one comes very close to a 250 testarossa, mike hawthorn drove in le mans 1958. -- Last edit: 2009-02-22 14:00:54 |

In their day David Cottingham's DK-Engineering butchered something like 10..15 Ferrari 250 GTE cars and turned them into kitcars by installing these weird looking replica bodies, which look a little like 500 TRC (the 2-litre version of Testa Rossa). Because it is sort of a Testa Rossa and has a 250 engine, he called them "250 Testa Rossa". The oval blinker is the best give away. The rollbar is awesome. |

I would say it's a replica of a 250 TR 1959/1960. Most of the real ones (possibly all of them) were right hand drive, and this type of bonnet would confirm it's not a 500 TRC. |

As already said it is a copy of a 500 TRC body with bonnet bulge to clear the center carbs of a 250GT engine. A complete replica with 250GT chassis and running gear. This type of a car is usually called a 250 Testa Rossa replica. |
