Sorry guys, it's a Fairlane. Check the rear bumper the next time you watch the movie. |

Seem to remember reading they did this stunt at least twice, perhaps as many as four cars were used. One car twisted sideways in mid air, the other, presumably the second attempt, landed nose down as intended. All seem to be wearing Fairlane 500. At least one car doesn't have a front licence plate - another has a yellow front plate. Tailights are different too, one Ford has reversing (back up) lights the other doesn't. It also appears that one of the Fords used has its chrome headlamp surrounds painted black. You gotta look pretty closely to see all this though! -- Last edit: 2012-02-09 20:44:12 |

Okay, post edit to the above, after hearing interviews with Danny Lee who did the special effects for the movie it seems that three cars is the most likely number used. Going by photos taken during the stunt they are all Fairlane 500 two door coupes - or at least are wearing 500 trim. Cars were rigged up with radio control. One of the cars apparently went into a ditch during testing and the photos show a lot of damage along the bottom of the passenger side sill (rocker panel) thsat might be a result of that. Another Fairlane went out of control and hit the wardrobe truck! |
