How beautiful |

Rare, even in the UK. Didn't sell well, and because of this most became Rover fleet cars, so are concentrated around the Birmingham area. |

Not all of them, though. I saw one nine years ago in Peraia, near Thessaloniki, Greece. It had originally been supplied by a dealer in Düsseldorf, but when I saw it was registered in Tiranë, Albania! BTW I liked this generation of 800s, and this was much the prettiest. -- Last edit: 2008-11-16 22:53:21 |

The standard 2.0 litre is rarest of all the 800 coupes |

Great Cars. (IMO) The best Rover Made. I wish they had made them RWD though. |

Wrong. They sold pretty well, but werent too common, there are still a fair few of them around. These were mostly hand-built cars, built in Cowley, Oxford. Most Rovers seen around Birmingham tend to be Birmingham-built Rovers such as 200/25 400/45 and a fair few late 75s. The car in the main pic would most certainly have been an 827 V6 Sterling. The Coupe first came out as a V6 Coupe until about 1996 when they brought out the 2.0 + Turbos (Which kind of spoilt it IMO) -- Last edit: 2014-09-03 19:11:53 |

I still want one of these. 820 Vitesse version FTW. |

Calculated estimate of total number of Coupes as between 7,500 and 10,500. 27% were 2.0 litre, 26% were 2.5 KV6, 47% were 2.7 V6; 66% of 2.0 litre cars were Vitesse. (from big chunk of text halfway down Link to "www.rover800.info" ). Dates (from Glass's): 827 Coupe - June 92- March 96 825 Coupe - Jan 96 - Dec 96 825 Sterling Coupe - Dec 96 - Oct 99 820 Sterling Coupe - Dec 96 - Oct 99 820 Vitesse Coupe (turbo) - Dec 96 - Oct 99. -- Last edit: 2012-03-25 15:19:08 |

maybe the only and only chance? Towed away by the municipality, because someone let it abaondoned (see the red sticker on the driver's window): http://www.zoll-auktion.de/auktion/auktion.php?id=348105 Maybe someone had noticed, that it's a real rarity. The usual fate of those cars is the crusher. If noone will bid for it (it's an auction), it will most probable end there, too. Maybe with picking up the neighbours, too: http://www.zoll-auktion.de/auktion/auktion.php?id=348089 http://www.zoll-auktion.de/auktion/auktion.php?id=348076 and http://www.zoll-auktion.de/auktion/auktion.php?id=348083 http://www.zoll-auktion.de/auktion/auktion.php?id=347686 -- Last edit: 2013-11-17 00:00:21 |

Poor 166... And the Z4? What a waste... |

Interesting that they want more for the Sterling than the Alfa. I was really tempted by this but missed out on it in the end as it sold very quickly (due to the cheap price). I'd think that would be exceptionally rare in Germany (single figures?). They appear for sale often in the UK, still. You just need to know where to look. |

I have a Coupe now, it looks exactly like the one above, same colour too and a 2.7 V6. Sadly it's general condition is not great having been a mechanics car, but it is a very solid car, it just needs some TLC which it'll hopefully get in the next few months. |
