1957-1960 1100 R [103 D]. Edit: the other 1100 R are listed as 1958... I guess this is the problem of model year vs actual year... Edit 2: I found the 1959-60 (will be 1960+) 1100 RL [103H] with exactly this (double) side trim. -- Last edit: 2008-10-23 22:51:09 |

About this version, I always knew it as a 1100 Lusso [103H] - introduced in March 1959. I thought the designation 1100 R only applied to the model introduced in January 1966. The Wikipedia Fiat 1100 Italian article seems to be a good source about the model: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_1100 -- Last edit: 2008-10-24 01:45:47 |

I agree with you that 1100R would be the 1966+ version. This had surprised me too, but my source is usually very well informed as well: http://www.zuckerfabrik24.de/fiat/fiat1100ix.htm |

Indeed Mike, your site seems very accurate, but german. Could it be then a designation given in Germany only? or an unofficial commercial designation? In my opinion The R is officially the last version of the 1100 , R standing for "Rinnovata" ... but in such a way this site makes a difference with "its R" (the 103H) and the 1966 model by adding "i" =Ri .... personnally I've never heard of 1966 Fiat 1100 Ri -- Last edit: 2008-10-24 12:17:14 |
