Looks like a rather early one. But at the same moment that the side strip appeared (March 1958), the car also got overriders... And according to http://www.auto-historia.com.ar/Historias/Fiat%20Historia%20EN.htm the Fiat 600 syarted in April 1960 in Argentina as 600 D. By then, the Italian version had already the new front indicators under the headlights. |

No. The new rool-down side windows appeared in March '57 and the side strip arrived in November '57, and at the same time the possibility to order the car in seven two-tone combinations, aside the usual seven solid colous. This is a "Milk Grey" body with "Dark Blue" roof (colours codes respectively 672 and 456). |

The front indicators mentioned by DybaMike, arrived in November 1959, and the 600 D in late August 1960. The only visible difference between a new 600 D and a late plain 600 was that the former had vent windows at the doors and at the rear more louvers for the ventilation... |

I explained a lot of things and was a bit misunderstood for my fault. This is a 1958 car ! |

But still, being set in Argentina I guess this will be a locally built car, and therefore 1960 as earliest possibility. Probably the first cars built in Argentina didn't have all the novelties of Italian built 600s. If it really is a 1958 car, then it is imported, not built in Argentina. Edit: the link in my first comment doesn't seem to work anymore, but this one does: http://www.cocheargentino.com.ar/f/fiat_600.htm And indeed the 1960 model had (even in Argentina) the new indicators, so this will be an imported car. I'll erase the Argentinean flag. -- Last edit: 2010-01-01 21:50:47 |
