If you send me you postal address via PM or email, you can get the Volga-birthday card The car above was a wreck, bought for 1500 D-Mark (ca.750 €). Flake, the keyboarder wasn't really bout the destroying, although that, because he is a classic car-fan with an own company, a rental service for classics: http://www.classicdepot.de/ |

How do you know it was sold new in DDR? |

Once read an interview with Flake (who runs a rental company for classic cars in Berlin http://www.oldtimer-mieten.net/oldtimer-mieten-107109.html), where he said something about this burnt Wolga, but I don't remember details. It was bought for 1000 D-Mark (ca.500 €) IIRC. It's not unlikely anyways, that it's a "made for DDR"-version, as after the Wall fell down, the very few German enthusiasts for COMECON-cars could pick enough material in the DDR. And used imports from the former USSR were (and still are) too expensive and complicated, so this happens nearly never, especially not for clunkers as this one here. -- Last edit: 2015-11-30 21:28:24 |
