Peggy Hill's car, appears throughout each series of the show, the main image is from episode 4.22 "Transnational Amusements Presents: Peggy's Magic Sex Feet".

Wikipedia says it is a Buick Regal.

Rocker B. J. wrote Buick LeSabre because, she mentioned her car being a Buick.

That is not a reason for being a LeSabre :p

There could be some debate about this, because King of the Hill doesn't exactly feature Disney-quality animation, details of cars actually change slightly in different shots, for example the rear passenger window appears more rectangular sometimes.

1980 Buick Century

But the Buick Century has two single headlights:
http://www.desoto58.com/peoplezone/century81a.jpg

I believe it's an '82 Regal sedan. After the Century went FWD in '82, the old RWD Century 4-door became the Regal 4-door and it had the four-eyes.

Yes it is a 1982 Buick Regal Sedan.

Since this is a drawing, some details are incorrect... The rear end looks like it's inspired from a 1980-81 Century because of the amber flasher lenses the 82 Regal had red flasher lenses (except in Europe, see this 1984 Regal with amber lenses borrowed from the 1980-81 Century) [Image: buick29cn.3905.jpg]. The quad headlights are incorrect for a 80-81 Century but they are correct for a 82 Regal. The grille doesn't look like a Century or Regal grille.

Peggy's car is a 1982-87 Buick Regal G-body 4dr sedan. The Regal which was usually a coupe, needed a sedan to compete with other manufacturers. The Regal took over the 4dr sedan G-body of the 1980-81 Century... when the Century switched to the FWD A-body platform in 82.

That car is a Regal vs. the Century, because the G-body Regal had quad-headlights as opposed to the G-body Century's single headlights.

Also, another factor making it a Buick Regal is on the episodes, when it shows the interior of Peggy's car... the vents on the dashboard are vertically designed, as opposed to the horizontal design of it's sister cars... the G-body 81-84 Chevy Malibu, 1981 Pontiac LeMans, 1982-86 Pontiac Bonneville, and 1980-87 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham.

The vertical vents is a 1978-87 Buick Regal G-body coupe and sedan trademark. lol

Apparently it had a manual transmission for one episode.

In season 12 episode 13 they buy a Chrysler Sebring convertible to replace it. It's only show in that episode and the Regal is back for the rest of the series.

maxman CA

I'm quite sure that when they buy the convertible, it stays for the rest of the series, and the Buick never shows up again.

I've been re-watching the series on Netflix. After they buy the Sebring, the Buick shows up one or twice, then the Sebring is back from then on. So we're both right and wrong. :p Possible because certain episodes were made before the Sebring one, or it was just a mistake. I remember after Hank bought the F-250 his Ranger was shown a few times afterwards as well.

The car strongly resembles a Buick, but has what resembles a Pontiac emblem on the steering wheel. Taken from S4 E23.

This car would have already been 15 years old in 1997, when the series first premiered. The Hills were far from wealthy, but Peggy continued to drive it all the way through through episode 13 of season 12 (when it finally died and was replaced with the '04 Sebring convertible). By this time, if the episode chronology is followed, it would be 26 years old. I'm surprised Peggy didn't get a newer car earlier, especially when Hank got a new truck earlier...

Well the reason that Hank got his new truck is because in Season 5 his Ford Ranger got stuck on the train tracks after a malfunction with the carburetor when he was driving it and it got plowed over by a train, so he had to get a new vehicle. On the other hand, Peggy's car worked just fine until it died in Season 12, so I'm assuming that they saw no reason to replace it, even though it was 26 years old. I also remember in one of the earlier seasons of the show that Hank was telling Peggy a motivational speech or something and he said something along the lines of Peggy being so proud when her Buick's odometer rolled over to 200,000 miles, so that correlates to the car being from 1982.

Hank was known for his frugality. It would have been entirely in character for them to drive a vehicle until it simply wouldn't run anymore.

Case in point, his truck.
