This would be known as an Extended Cab. And tonka, would it be because 2004 was the first year the amber and clear sections completely wrapped around the tailight? |

no 2004 is the first year that the border of the taillights were dark and not red 1999-2003 looks like this: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/ce/images/0075.jpg (look at the last section which is Sierra) I don't know why LMC lists the taillights for 04-07 Sierra but doesn't show a picture on that page. Ahh, very impressive work. Although I also did notice the difference with regards to the amber and clear sections. I see what you mean but it is just an optical illusion. The clear and amber lens are the same It's just the red "border" on the side of the light is black on the 04+ ones so it blends in with the body. Does that make any sense? It is hard to explain but I replaced the taillights in my 01 Silverado with 04 Sierra ones for this reason. If you look at the badge next to "Sierra" on the tailgate, you will see this is also a hybrid model. |

The Hybrid was very rare. Actually the technology was so basic it was barely a hybrid, if you compare this hybrid technology to Toyota's hybrid technology. |
