Seagrave I think but i've never seen this model before, not with the headlights like that. The Seagrave M-Series (1977-1978, under 100 built only for US Navy) had a similar headlight setup but those were much later and were widebody with a canopy cab and not open. |

Not a Seagrave, it says it right on the front! This a 1958 Coast Custom Serial Number CF-58-16. Los Angeles County Fire Department Shop #49541 with a 1250 Gallon Per Minute pump and a 600 gallon water tank. I don't believe they liked it as David Boucher states in his book Devil Wind Fire Wagons, "This rig was tolerated until 1972." This is really a great shot, as the truck is with it's original engine company (E-64). |

"Custom" being the model name, or part of the make? |

I got my information from an LACoFD roster and the book Devil Wind Fire Wagons by David Boucher. David Boucher calls it the Coast Company of Martinez, CA. The roster calls it a Coast Custom. I will ask him to see what else he nows about this company. On another note, this truck is on pg.70 of Devil Wind Fire Wagons and is also in a Emergency! episode. I will also try to find the episode. Another thing, LACoFD also got 8 1949 General Pacific 1000 or 750gpm pumpers with 500gal. tanks, plus an additional 18 International 1000/500 pumpers in 1950. All 26 of these trucks had Coast body's. |

this apparatus first served as E64 and last as E72 in Malibu This same Coast engine also appeared in the Emergency! episode ‘Alley Cat’ (3.3) as Engine 24 at the airplane crash. |
