Unusual to see a Dennis as a removal van . When I first saw it from side I thought bet this is an Albion . -- Last edit: 2022-05-24 09:10:56 |

And for the 'Spot Sam Kydd ' club here is the great man himself as the van driver . |

290 films to look out for, plus the TV stuff! Did he ever stop working? Seeing JCB’S note, I looked up “Cockleshell Heroes”, remembering the old Spike Milligan jokes with David Lodge. He was in it, but his part was “Fish Lorry Driver”. Not a hero at that point then. -- Last edit: 2022-05-24 09:18:34 |

In May 1940 Churchill sent him and his part time soldier gang the Queen Victoria Rifles over from London to defend Calais to the death . They spent two days fighting and the survivors five years in Poland as a POW's (where Kydd organised the concert party surprisingly!) They were called the weekenders ! Post war it was apparently compulsory for Kydd to have a bit part in black and white war movies ! -- Last edit: 2022-05-24 10:57:02 |

No complaints from me, I only went for V because of the windscreen shape. |

Happy Birthday JFS , how do people know ? Im my minds eye I had you as a retired metal basher from the Midlands living in Stoke on Trent But on your Profile you appear to be the model for Stephen Yardley from Howards Way -- Last edit: 2022-05-24 18:11:10 |

^ Thanks. Retired, yes. Smoke-on-Stench, no. Metal basher, they used to refer to GKN as “Midlands metal basher” indeed, but they didn’t know half of it. Yardley? No Smethwick, but I grew up in the agrarian centre of the county of Stafford. Sailing, YES! -- Last edit: 2022-05-24 18:41:54 |

From pictures, Dennis adverts and period photographs, I cannot separate the later Dennis Pax IV (sidelights moved over the headlights) or an early (1966-68?) Pax V. More Pax V changes appeared after 'G' reg. I believe. edit: the Pax V was introduced early 1963 therefore unless there was some overlap, the Pax V was 1960-63 and likely had the lower mounted side-lights.
