I would say it's a Sport Coupe. There were the Sport SL Coupe and the Sport L Coupe, but I'm not able to say which one is this. Nevertheless, with these bumpers it's not one of the first sold in the US. I think there are other two on the site. |

The SL were rebadged at the rear Sport L after November 1972. In other words the rear scripts were between November 1971 and November 1972: - Fiat 128 S - Fiat 128 SL The same became after November 1972: - Fiat 128 Sport - Fiat 128 Sport L (1100 or 1300 appeared in another part of the rear end in both cases). |

Very good information. Therefore we have to modify the way in what they are listed, no? I doubt that there was a "Sport" two times in the name ("128 Sport L Sport Coupe" ). These made before the november 1972 have to be listed as "128 S Coupe" or "128 SL Coupe" - hence this French poster: /vehicle_246443-Fiat-128-Sport-Coupe-128AC-1974.html (film from 1974, but poster can be older). And the newer 1973 m.y.+ as "128 Sport Coupe" and "128 Sport L Coupe" (with accents of course). Actually the word Coupe never appeared on the badge - so maybe we can skip it as well? -- Last edit: 2009-12-27 15:21:23 |
