Chassis PB3536. "I am the current owner of this car. I bought it in February 2005. I have some early history, up to 1936 and since 1987 but there is a big gap postwar. It was owned by Townshend in 1959 but no idea of body style then. It is believed to have been a saloon then a shooting brake, then an open four seater. It is now a very accurate recreation of the Bobtail car as raced in 1929. It is still a matching numbers car and I believe it to be one of the first all Electron cars...... My Bentley VR5906 was featured in the TV programme 'Midsomer Murders'. This was filmed in 2010 and aired early 2011. The Episode was called 'Death in the Fast Lane'. My car has appeared in several TV programmes including Chris Barrie, Britain’s Greatest Machines and Supersizers Eat the Twenties, an English TV Lifestyle/Food programme." and "Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Was station wagon, then 4 seater, Rebuilt as "Bobtail" replica (YW 2557, chassis KM3088) 1984/87 - body by H&H."" |
