What are diferences between the Datsun 15,16 and 17? |

Externally, most visible difference is possibly the grille treatment or rather the width of the slat on the grille, as well as the shape of the grille emblem. Usually the badge is square and the width of the grille slat is narrower on the 15 ( as explained here ) : ![]() On the later 17, the slat is wider and the emblem is now round ( as explained here ) : ![]() On the 16, from what I can see when looking at this example or this one, the grille slat is still narrow (or at least it´s narrower than on the 17) and there seems to be no emblem. Also, according to other info, there is chrome molding on the side louvers (which probably originally weren´t present on the earlier 15). It´s a bit confusing, especially when googling different body styles of each model which have survived today. -- Last edit: 2021-08-29 01:36:35 |
