Agree with Regal trim, but cannot say if this is a Champion or Commander from view shown. Would need a look at the center of the trunk lid to see if it carries a V-8 emblem or not. |

I believe you are forgetting one thing; as it's a convertible in Regal trim, it can only be a Champion, as convertible Commanders all wore State trim for 1950-52. |

I'm sorry. I should have said "Regal/State trim". Same Regal trim pieces (bright rockers) but for the Champion convertibles only, Studebaker added the bright gravel shields, normally just found on Commander State models. As has been mentioned before, the only Champions to have bright gravel shields from the factory were the convertibles. Other Regal trimmed Champions had rubber shields, as was the case with Regal trimmed Commanders. (Of course, dealers would put bright shields on Champions if the customer requested. I've seen a number of non-convertible Champions so equipped.) -- Last edit: 2021-03-15 21:55:57 |

Anyway, I think this is a Regal as it doesn't appear to have the fender-top ornaments that were standard on the State. |

Yes, that's a good point too. I couldn't tell on my screen. But we will go with that. -- Last edit: 2021-03-15 23:21:12 |

Special note to Lateef. You are becoming quite good with Studebaker ID, my friend! |

Thank you - I wouldn't have gotten there without your expertise though |

Awww! And I wouldn't have gotten there if it was not for the excellent Studebaker Drivers Club magazine and its excellent technical articles! |
