Looks very Opel based. |

Yes, it is just the Opel Kadett E with a Chevrolet-badge. "Made for Brazil" is wrong. The Opel-based Chevrolet in South America were all produced there. Only in Brazil or wasn't there an assembly line in Argentina, too? |

So also made in Brazil, "made for" being to justify the Chevrolet name. -- Last edit: 2008-01-13 17:07:10 |

Its built in Brazil instead of made for Brazil |

Yes but we use the "made for" to indicate the reason of the different name, hence both "made in" and "made for" in this case. |

@rpcm: was this Chevrolet-version launched in 1989? It has the old nose, which was usual for the Opel Kadett/Vauxhall Astra from the beginning in 1983. |

Exactly. In Brazil, Kadett was made by 1989-1998. |

All with the nose like that one above? In Europe this was made 1983-1989, the later Kadett's were a bit facelifted. |

Launched in 1989 as a 1990 MY. Have not located any 1989 MYs on the '1989' models listed on for sale sites. So far they all come up as 1990s. 1990-1992 by the blue bow tie in the grille. 1993 it moved to the hood. |
